Career History

Army 1981- Present


firefoxI was Initially trained as an engineer specialising in the repair of weapon systems, served with many different units in Germany, Bosnia, Falkland Islands, the gulf and UK. Achieved the rank of Staff Sergeant in August 1999 where I became the workshop manager for a team of 12 tradesmen of various trades. I was Responsible for the career management of all the tradesmen under my command and also the availability of all electrical, mechanical and optical equipments in the barracks. During my tour as the workshop manager a new I.T. system (FEMIS) was installed. I was trained as the system administrator and was responsible for training and it's adoption by the users, which as with all new system installations is never easy. I've completed three tours as a high street Army Recruiter and am now employed by Recruiting Group as the Internet manager.

Recruiting 1993-1996 & 2000-2003


I was Employed as a careers adviser in a total of 3 different high street Army Recruiting offices where I carried out interviews, psychometric testing, career councilingl and processing up to enlistment. All of these processes required the extensive use of I.T. equipment and office procedures.

Internet Manager 2003-2005

firefoxResponsible for all aspects of Internet business owned by Recruiting Group, management of the web sites, development of new content, data capture and data flow to the agencies for fulfilment and data mining. Librarian for all software licenses, domain names and secure socket layer certificates, control of all change requests, technical training and tasking of web assistant. Compliance with current legislations i.e. Data Protection Act, Freedom of Information Act, Disabilities and Discriminations Act. Liaison with all agencies and contractors internal and external. Source and purchase items that will increase the effectiveness of the Internet business and improve customer satisfaction. Production of analytics reports to show the cost effectiveness of advertising campaigns .


I.T. Manager 2005-Present

firefoxResponsible for all aspects of ICT business owned by a large training GP surgery in Hampshire, management of the web sites, Control of all IT equipemnt, staff training and process management. Compliance with current legislations i.e. Data Protection Act, Freedom of Information Act and Information Governance. Liaison with all agencies, contractors and helpdesks. Research new technologies for adoption and project managent rollout.Production of reports and returns that affect the overall income of the surgery .
